[Update] Battlefield 1 is Confirmed And It Has A WWI Setting
Well, I literally didn't expect any of this.
It seems the the next Battlefield has leaked just a smidge early, and it's got a strange name and setting. As reported by a leaked retail image on reddit, it seems like the next game is called Battlefield 1, and it looks set in an alternate WWI. There is a man in a cape, a vintage hand gun and a mace… thing? To top it, there is a zeppelin in the back. Here is the picture, which actually first turned up on the Xbox One store via NeoGAF.
I have to say, all of this is surprising, but in just a few hours, we will actually see what the hell this thing is at the reveal event.
Update:
And here is the confirmation. It seems, that it's not an alternate history, just a 'flair-y' World War 1, which is an interesting aesthetic. It's weird to see the Battlefield blue and orange tinge to such a horrific fight, but it certainly does look impressive.

It's also been announced that the game will launch on October 21st.
