Green Lantern To Sponsor MCM London Expo
MCM London Expo is the biggest comics convention in the UK, boasting an attendance of up to 100,000. Many come for the anime section and it draws huge cosplay crowds.
But over the last few years the Comics Village area has been growing and growing, boasting international guests, panels, signings, and talent scouts – and finding new audiences for comics. To the extent that some publishers have been deliberately tailoring their product to sell at the show. With a seeming majority of female attendees and most of of them under twenty, it's seen as a shining beacon of the future of comics and comics-related industries in the UK.
They also have actors and producers doing panels to promote shows like True Blood, Warehouse 13, Fringe, Merlin and the like.
But this year they seem to have kicked up a notch. Warner Brothers have signed on to be the main sponsor of the show, under the Green Lantern movie banner. Which may indicate a Green Lantern movie panel, guests flown over and footage shown to the crowd. And gameplay previews of the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters game.
And also note that supertitle, "London's Comic Con". Looks like someone's wanting to make something very clear. More on that to come I think… an all new London MCM Expo website will launch tomorrow in conjunction with the title sponsorship.
