Mature Audience Prison Drama: Get Ready For More Kaijumax This Spring
Two time Eisner Award winner and creator of Kaijumax, Zander Cannon, has a message for you:
"You like monsters? YEAH! You like prison? MAYBE! C'mon in and join me for Kaijumax Season 2; the first trade is big yet cheap so people can jump aboard, and I will try not to brutalize or kill off any beloved characters this season. No promises."
Yep, that's right folks. Portland's premier independent comic book publisher, Oni Press, is proud to announce that their critically acclaimed series Kaijumax has been renewed. Get ready for the all-new second season of Kaijumax! All the Red Humongo wants to do is go straight now that he's out on parole, but his good-for-nothing brother Green Humongo has escaped from Kaijumax and is crashing at his house, with fellow escapee Electrogor in tow. Out-of-work guard Jeong drinks his troubles away on the moon, while new police recruit Chisato throws herself enthusiastically into her first day on the job.
This mature audience prison drama is built from the dreams of Kaiju-lovers everywhere, with one part HBO's Oz, and a little dash of Orange is the New Black. Kaijumax Season 2 #1 arrives in local comic book shops on May 11, 2016, but if you haven't had a chance to read the first six issues, don't worry! Kaijumax Season 1 TPB will arrive in stores February 24, 2016 at an awesome price point of $9.99.
Oh, and here's a little dinosaur rap…
