MCM London Expo – May 2010 – Selling Out of Watchmensch

MCM London Expo – May 2010 – Selling Out of WatchmenschThis weekend held the MCM London Expo. And fo the first time in fifteen years, I had a table at a comics convention. Manned by me, Eve and Alice Johnston with help from Slashfilm's Brendon Connelly, I managed to shift a stack of Watchmensch, Flying Friars, Chase Variants and Civil Wardrobes to unsuspecting cosplayes and the like. Even Rorscach bought a copy.

As ever it was a heady mix of anime, manga, cosplay and gaming, that delivered a crowd for the Comics Village to feast on. The Fox bar in the evening did a roaring trade and creators kept the night going through till four in the morning. Some more succcessfully than others.

Richard Starkings was full of the joys of a summer with an Elephantmen movie in pre-production. And Dan Boultwood was seen with a stack of Elephantmen books too – a little research there? You can also see Ian Churchill's elbow. Other creators on hand included Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Jock, Andy Diggle, Paul Cornell, Tony Lee, Si Spurrier, Gary Erskine, Kevin McGuire, Ian Sharman, Ilya, Paul Duffield, Ben Templesmith and a stack more.
