PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Reaches 3 Million Concurrent Players On Steam
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has done the impossible and raised the record for most concurrent players for a game ever on Steam to over 3 million.
PUBG's ludicrous success continues to grow to heights previously thought unattainable. After breaking 2 million concurrent players on Steam in October, the game has continued to surge and grow since its 1.0 release at the end of last month. As shared by Brendan Greene on twitter, 3.1 million players were playing on Steam at the same time as of December 29. That breaks the game's own record.
To put this into perspective, the next closest record is Dota 2's 1.29 million concurrent, and that game is free. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds continues to surge in popularity on PC to unimaginable heights. What the ceiling of this thing is and if we have yet reached peak remains to be seen. Surely we have to be near it… right?
