Maybe Spider-Girl creators took note of these suggestions. She appears tough and not incredibly buxom or curvy in her costume, as some super heroines are drawn to attract the eye of male readers. Instead, she's lithe, reminiscent of Diana Rigg's Emma Peel from "The Avengers," the 1960s British television show, as she swings through the city searching for trouble and the bad guys – or girls.

The essence of the online community will be the StoryMaker engine. We'll be soliciting the challenge to them of posting a synopsis of the stories. Look at the bible, look at the production parameters and give us a synopsis of a story. From there the producers will go into that pool and look at the right stories and put them into the StoryMaker engine, in which people will then have the opportunity to then, essentially, create an online graphic novel.

Humanoids Returns to the U.S. Graphic Novel Market

The new Humanoids office is the latest effort to establish the famous French science-fiction-oriented comics publisher, Les Humanoides Associes, in the U.S. Best known for publishing such acclaimed Euro-comics stars as Moebius, Alexandro Jodorowsky and Enki Bilal, Humanoids was first launched in the U.S. in 1998 by Humanoides publisher Fabrice Giger. But the house has also had short-lived co-ventures with DC Comics (2003) and Devils Due (2008).
