Xbox One Outsold The PlayStation 4 In April

Besides the initial price drop of the Xbox One that saw the console take November and December, the PlayStation 4 has pretty much been the best seller since this generation of consoles started. The appeal of the PlayStation 4 is clearly resonating with consumers, which has lead the console to astronomical numbers.

There was a different story in April though. The Xbox One came out victorious last month, with impressive sales reported NPD.  Mike Nichols, vice president of Xbox Marketing explained:

Xbox One console sales in the U.S. increased 63 percent in April 2015 compared to April 2014 and Xbox Live comparisons showed the number of active global users (Xbox One and Xbox 360) grew 24 percent.

I'm a firm believer in competitive markets, so this is good news for everybody. I'm really excited to see if Xbox One can hold this, because any ground it makes back on Sony's console is good for the wider industry.
