Sex Criminals #1 Sells More Than Hawkeye #1

Sex Criminals #1 by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky has sold out its first print run of 46,000.

Worth considering that this comic sold more copies to retailers than Matt Fraction's Hawkeye #1 for Marvel. Not bad for a bawdy mature readers comic about early masturbation, sex and an allegory for the transformed world that sexuality can bring.

It also played the fact that an audience will accept any fantastical premise as long as the result fights crime… from Dukes Of Hazard to The A Team to a animal all the way through to Person Of Interest. Except that these orgasmic time stoppers commit the crime.

Either way, it's not Hawkeye.

Another Image launch this week, Rat Queens #1, has also sold out its first print run of 25,000, just ahead of last week's sellout of Zero #1 of 24,000. Second prints all round…
