Something To Be Thankful For – Loot Crate Help UK Looters Avoid Customs Charge

image

The pound has been crashing in value. Which means that the stated value of a Loot Crate, $20, has repeatedly pushed over the £15 limit before UK Customs imposes import duty and the Post Office charges are added on, increasing the price byaround two thirds.

Bleeding Cool also found ourselves hiking our way to the post office to pay £11 on top, because the pound value for each Loot Crate had moved from around £14 to £15.02, just over the limit and triggering the  massive charges.

But what are Loot Crate to do? They can't be held responsible for changing exchange rates.

Well, Loot Crate has done something. They have labeled new Loot Crates at $15 for Customs purposes rather than the $20 which would have included the internal US postage price.

So for the core crate at least, it should be arriving without comment – and charge – from Her Majesty's Inspectors.
