Spanish Publisher of DC Comics to Crowdfund Kamandi Omnibus

El Catálogo del Cómic, the company which holds the license to publish DC Comics in Spain and Latin America, plans to release a complete collection of Jack Kirby's Kamandi, and in a first for the company, they're using crowdfunding to edit the book. ECC announced the news on their website, launching a crowdfunding campaign on the site Spaceman Project, where they hope to raise 27,000 Euros. The book will weigh in at nearly 900 pages, collecting Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth #1-40, as well as essays by Bruce Timm and Mike Royer. An English-language Kamandi Omnibus collecting all 40 issues was released by DC Comics last year.

There are only two options to pledge to the campaign. For 55 Euros, backers will get an exclusive edition of the book expected to ship in August, while for 197 Euros, backers get four volumes of Jack Kirby's Fourth World. Additionally, anyone who backs the project will get a special collection of comic book versions of Kirby stories from the 1st Issue Special anthology series that ran at DC from 1975 to 1976.

To participate, head to the Spaceman Project page. Shipping is free in Spain.
