All-Star Batman #4 Hits To The Heart And Soul Of A Trump-Voting America. So, Yes, Spoilers.
Today sees the publication of All-Star Batman #4 by Scott Snyder and John Romita Jr. A story where everyone is afraid of their secrets coming out, being exposed, and are doing the kind of things that people do when they are scared.
So, you know, final page spoilers and all that, as the article plays out. But if you want a cathartic explanation of what the hell is going on in the rest of the news, it might just fit.
Because the comic continues its line of presenting utterly ridiculous things, like Batman have speakers in his pecs…
…defeating the bad guy with rocking music track "Batman Is A C-nt" (probably)…
…and channeling the Red Baron. That's right folks, we have Batman flying through the sky in a bi-plane using echo-location. He did, after all, say, in that very first issue of Detective Comics #27, "I shall become a bat."
And despite Batman's beliefs about the people he has sworn himself to protect, we also see what the population of America has become, when fear is the greatest driver. Because it's not just criminals who are a cowardly and superstitious lot.
It's everyone. They are afraid, they are angry, they want to strike back.
You're seeing what we all saw this morning, Batman.
Though as it stands, Hillary is winning the popular vote. Which, you know, might just get to Trump. To quote him, just on the numbers coming in right now, she "shoulda won".
If that holds up, that is.
