Swipe File: Doctor Who And Bill & Ted
This is a cartoon created by Chad Porter in 2013 and published on DeviantArt.
At the time he said,
This has been a running gag in my head for some time now and I finally got it down. It's the old "Time-Travellers-Bumping-Into-Each-Other-Crossover" gag. But of course, I did my own little twist on it. Now before I get any haters from the Doctor Who fans out there, I don't dislike Doctor Who. I've never watched the new series (although it looks rather cool) but I'm a Bill and Ted fan more so
And this is the T-shirt sold by Ummee by Gary Broad
And this is what Gary says about creating it.
It's a crossover of two of the best time traveling based show and films. It's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Doctor Who. Unfortunately they meet on bad circumstances.
I guess time travel inspired I love knowing and trying to understand it. Representing freedom I suppose with time travel as a possibility anything is well possible.
Naturally Gary has a Redbubble page. Can you find any other pieces so… inspired?
In Swipe File we present two or more images that resemble each other to some degree. They may be homages, parodies, ironic appropriations, coincidences or works of the lightbox. We trust you, the reader, to make that judgment yourself? If you are unable to do so, please return your eyes to their maker before any further damage is done. The Swipe File doesn't judge, it's interested more in the process of creation, how work influences other work, how new work comes from old, and sometimes how the same ideas emerge simultaneously, as if their time has just come. The Swipe File was named after the advertising industry habit where writers and artist collect images and lines they admire to inspire them in their work. It was swiped from the Comic Journal who originally ran this column, as well as the now defunct Swipe Of The Week website.
