The First Issue Of Jonesy Comes With A Goldie Vance Preview

What's better than reading the first issue of Jonesy? Well, getting to check out a preview of Goldie Vance #1 of course! From BOOM! Box, Goldie Vance # 1, written by Hope Larson, with art by Brittney Williams comes to us in the same spirit of Nancy Drew and Veronica Mars. It's all about girl detectives.

Said to be a timeless story, Goldie Vance follows 16-year-old Marigold 'Goldie' Vance who lives at a Florida resort with her dad, who also happens to manage the place. Her mom, who divorced her dad years ago, works as a live mermaid at a club downtown. Goldie has an insatiable curiosity, which explains her dream to one day become the hotels in-house detective. When Charles, the current detective, encounters a case he cant crack, he agrees to mentor Goldie in exchange for her help solving the mystery utilizing her smarts, random skills, and connections with the hotel staff and various folks in town.

BOOM! Studios is constantly releasing great comics. I've mentioned before, and it's still remains true, half of my pull list is made up of their comics. I think having a female lead mystery series is a smart move on their part. From what I read of the preview, I found Goldie Vance to be sassy and spirited.
