The Ninth Doctor Joins Time Lord Victorious in Doctor Who Magazine
We've been keeping a beady eye on the Doctor Who multi-media crossover Time Lord Victorious. The Doctor Who comic book has seen The Tenth Doctor join with the Prime Statagist Dalek against the ancient race The Hond, determined to wipe out all life – including Daleks and eventually its own. The Doctor Who Annual also laid out the time period of The Dark Times in Doctor Who lore, with the earliest alien races and when Time Lords were young.
The new issue of the Doctor Who Magazine #566 includes the Ninth Doctor comic book story, Monstrous Beauty, by Scott Gray and John Ross, separate from the rest of the magazine as its own glossy oversized comic book. Which sees the Ninth Doctor and Rose journey where they should not have been, where TARDISes fear to tread. The Dark Times, a time where the Great Vampires prospered.
Where Gallifreyans are not yet Time Lords (but no one is using the term Shobogans either)…
Where Rassilon is a Commander, rather than President, but also presenting as female. Is this Rassilon's original form?
And where death is yet to be a thing.
That seems a major part of the Time Lord Victorious mythos, as seen in the Doctor Who Annual. Death does not exist, until it is introduced by the Kotturah, known as "The Bringers Of Death". Because, it seems, the Kotturah invented the concept, at a time when life was immortal. Creatures with the power to end of limit life, they may have ended immortality for all races in the Dark Times. Sometimes voluntarily, sometimes not, they want to bring a lifespan to every species. But it's the Doctor's presence in this time that changes things.
Here's the full Time Lord Victorious line-up so far.
