Today sees the final issue of Return Of Wolverine #5. The first issue of Hulkverines #1. The first issue of Wolverine And The Infinity Watch #1. And the new issue of Uncanny X-Men #12. And Wolverine is, as you would expect, everywhere. Spoilers on, obviously.

We have seen different versions of him of late. Wolverine. A evil-controlled Wolverine. Old Man Logan. And Phoenix Wolverine from the future.

And there's lots to learn. For a start, which is which, and who is who.

Return Of Wolverine #5, which sees the real Logan, revived from the dead by Perpetua Persephone, trying to escape her clutches.

As well as suggesting that the Old Man Logan storyline, which Return of Wolverine writer Charles Soule continued after Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, was all her fault after all.

And, thanks to Return Of Wolverine, a timeline that has now been averted. We wouldn't want him killing all his teammates, would we? Return goes straight into Wolverine & The Infinity Watch #1. Which sees Wolverine meet Wolverine Phoenix. And a revelation we had pretty much all expected.

That this Wolverine we had seen knocking about since Marvel Legacy #1.

…was not the same Wolverine who escaped from the adamantium in the same issue.

Instead, he was this fellow, who has been also knocking around the Avengers, Thor, Infinity Wars, wherever he's allowed to pop up.

Future Wolverine masquerading as Past Wolverine. And Old Man Logan taken out of the equation now.

And now his story is ending too.

Which should leave us with just one Wolverine now. In Uncanny -Men, who follows up on Matthew Rosenberg's New Mutants mini-series which left them all techno-virused and shipped off to Colonel Callahan and the military division O.N.E. Remember?

And now we found out what happened to them. Some like Rahne and Illyana who were captured but who freed themselves of the virus…

Wolverine… did you just stab Guido? Strong Guy? Created by Peter David and Marvel CCO Joe Quesada back in X-Factor back in the early nineties? But don't worry, he survives.
