Arcade Chaser: Game Point Arcade Inside Disney's All Star Sports Resort
If you've never stayed at a Disney World resort, let me be the firs to tell you how awesome most of them are. I've stayed in a number of them, ranging from their value to moderate resorts. Maybe one day I can afford to stay at say, The Polynesian, but for now I'm happy with the selections Disney offers for us not so rich people.
The All Star Resorts in general are nice. They're themed well, the price point isn't awful (usually around $120/night) and they all have arcades. Since I was recently at the All Star Sports resort this past week, I got to check out their Game Point Arcade. Most of the arcades in the All Stars are right across from the cafeteria, but they may be in a different location at the other value (Art of Animation, Pop Century) and moderate resorts. They're pretty much run of the mill. There's some Dave and Buster style games, but there's also a selection of stand up arcade machines as well. Two years ago All Star Movies had the original TRON arcade machines, as well as some pinball machines. This time around I wasn't so lucky.
I didn't play anything this time around, but for the most part it's a nice, clean arcade that family appropriate. While I wouldn't let having an arcade or not sway your choice on which hotel to stay in, it is a nice perk. Plus again, it's right across from the cafeteria. You can grab a slice of $5 cheese pizza and a $4 coke while your kid plays games.
