Are We Getting a Sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines?

While we wait to see what will become of Vampire: The Masquerade these days, it seems like we may be getting a new video game in the downtime. For years people have been begging for a sequel to the 2004 Activision title Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, and if the latest rumors are true it seems like we might be getting one. Paradox Interactive has been teasing an alternate reality game recently, as documented by Rock Paper Shotgun, that leans heavily on the side of vampire culture. Since Paradox currently owns White Wolf Publishing, who current run VTM, the dots were easily connected for people online to assume we're getting a new game from the series.

While we would love to believe it, we're guessing that if we do get a new video game based on Vampire: The Masquerade, it's probably going to have less to do with Bloodlines and more to do with making a brand new IP. While the game is cool, that title is still wrapped up with Activision last time we checked and is still being sold on some sites. So unless Paradox made a secret deal we don't know about yet, we're thinking you're going to be getting an all-new game as opposed to a sequel. But hey, players can dream!
