Barotrauma Will Be Leaving Early Access Mid-March

After spending a few years in Early Access, Daedalic Entertainment will bring the full version of Barotrauma next month.

Daedalic Entertainment announced this morning they will be releasing Barotrauma in full, leaving Early Access in mid-March 2023. Along with developers FakeFish and Undertow Games, the team are ready to give players the full experience of their frantic sci-fi submarine simulator title, which has been out in a limited fashion since June 2019. A few updates have been released over the years, but finally, we'll have the completed version when it comes out on March 13th, 2023. Version 1.0 of the game will be adding a number of cool additions as you explore the depths of Europa's oceans, including a variety of u-boats and missions, brand new threatening and disgusting enemies, varied biomes for you to explore, and even funnier ragdoll physics. You can find out more about this version of the game down at the bottom.

"Barotrauma is a sci-fi submarine sim with both a single-player mode as well as co-op with up to 16 players who navigate the depths of Jupiter's frozen moon Europa and fulfill various missions. Together with their active and passionate community, developers FakeFish and Undertow Games have greatly expanded and improved the game since its Early Access launch in Summer 2019: They overhauled the campaign and tutorials, added new monsters, missions, and outposts, improved graphics and environments, implemented a scripted event system and much much more. All of this was made possible with the feedback and support of more than 30,000 Discord members as well as 60,000 player-made entries on the Steam Workshop. To show their deep devotion to their players and their fanbase, the devs even added a player-made submarine to the base game as part of a community competition.

  • Wrecked submarines, abandoned outposts, and improved alien ruins.
