Dan Romer Revealed As The Composer For 'Far Cry 5'

A bit of cool news from Ubisoft as the company announced that Dan Romer is the composer for their upcoming game Far Cry 5. The soundtrack, up to this point, really hasn't been discussed as most of the focus has been set on the characters and the religious overtones of the game. Romer's reveal put a new spin on things as the Oscar-nominated composer is just the kind of person they need to set the tone for rural Montana and the fight of the townsfolk to take back what's theirs.

If you're unfamiliar with Dan Romer's work, he's been the principal composer or contributing musician to films such as Beasts Of The Southern Wild, Tomorrow We Disappear, Walter, Digging For Fire, Finder's Keepers, Gleason, Katie Says Goodbye, The Little Hours and more. He's got a Grammy for his work on the 2013 song "Say Something" by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera, and he most recently served as a producer on Shawn Mendes' 2017 track "Treat You Better". The kind of music he could create for Far Cry 5 is sure to set an eerie and Americana tone that will probably be off the beaten path, just to keep in line with the Far Cry series as a whole.
