Dragon Ball FighterZ Currently Holds the Most Evo 2018 Entrants

Those who were angry that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite didn't make the cut for Evo 2018 and was essentially replaced by newcomer Dragon Ball FighterZ for tournament play may now need to rethink the popularity of the game and its inclusion today. On Twitter this week, one of the organizers named Mr. Wizard posted the current leaderboards of entrants for every game, with Bandai Namco's fighting game leafing the pack ahead of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and Tekken 7.

Of course, these are basically just preliminary numbers and don't reflect the final standing totals. Signups for Evo 2018 don't end until August 3rd, and its done that way to not only get as many slots filled as possible but to also give pro tournament players a chance to figure out their schedules and determine if they can actually participate. We probably won't see a more accurate list until mid-July, but considering the popularity of Street Fighter V, it is surprising that DBFZ is currently sitting on top of the entrant mountain this early.
