Fortnite Season 8 Is Pretty Much Gonna Be Pirates

Well, if you haven't had your fill if pirates this calendar year with Sea of Thieves and Atlas, more are coming in the next season of Fortnite. The tweet below went out this morning from the official Fortnite account, showing off a hooked hand and some language that, let's be real here, can't be misinterpreted for anything else. We're getting pirate stuff in Season 8.

Now, whether or not you like pirates is immaterial here, because even if the theme of the season isn't centered around them, it's clear that at least your next skin and add-on options for the game are going to be pirate themed. The big question we have is whether or not that upcoming Earthquake disaster dataminers found will mean that the island will get broken into enough pieces that ships will be able to travel through it with new rivers and waterways. We won't know until they actually flip the switch, but it's interesting to think about.
