Indie game developer Wired Dreams and publisher QUByte Interactive have confirmed that Frogue is coming to consoles. The game was released back in February 2024 on Steam, and since then has received a lot of praise for the way it adapted a roguelite bull hell title to feel more than just the sum of its genres by using time manipulation to help put a new spin on things. Now, console players will get a chance to try it out themselves, and it will be coming to all three major platforms on June 27, 2024. Until it comes out later this week, enjoy the latest trailer and info here.
Frogue
Frogue is the fifth game from developer Thiago Oliveira, the independent solo developer behind Wired Dreams Studio. It is the fourth game published for consoles in partnership with QUByte Interactive. The cool thing about Frogue is that each player can play it the way they want, using the tricks of throwing their weapons at their opponents, freezing time, and navigating the platforms of each stage with agility and precision in every move. The fact that the character has the ability to stick to walls and use some special powers gives the game a three-dimensional feel and opens up many possibilities for thinking up different solutions to each challenge in a strategic way. The turn-based combat gameplay and many other elements will challenge the most demanding players who like their games to be a little more difficult, and all with a colorful, pixelated look reminiscent of the great console classics of yesteryear.
- Embark in a procedurally generated journey in Frogue, a Roguelike Bullet Hell Platformer.
- Dash to avoid bullet and kill your enemies!
- Throw knifes to kill them at a distance.
- Out of options? No problem, freeze time and make your own solution!
