GDC: Paperboy Will Be the Next Classic Games Postmortem Title
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) revealed the next title that will join the Classic Game Postmortem series during this year's conference. Announced on the official GDC blog, this year's edition of Classic Games Postmortem will include a segment on Paperboy.
The Paperboy postmortem will be hosted by John Salwitz, a veteran creator who's worked on everything from Rampart to Medal of Honor. Salwitz was one of the co-creators of the coin-operated classic Paperboy, and will walk the GDC audience through the design and development process that culminated in the creation of the modern classic. Attendees can expect an inside perspective on working at Atari, a crash-course in arcade game design, and the untold story of developing a timeless game that gave us all an undeniable fear of bees.
Paperboy joins Command & Conquer, Spider-Man 2, and Lemmings as part of the GDC 2019 Classic Games Postmortem series. The series is one of the most interesting opportunities GDC attendees have, as it completely pulls back the veil on the game development process, in a way that most folks rarely get to see. So if you have the opportunity, do check it out.
GDC 2019 will take place on March 18-22nd at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.
Previous Classic Games Postmortem talks can be found at the GDC Vault, including last year's entries: Commandos with Ninja, NBA Jam, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Ultima Online.
