New Stats on Twitch Show Fortnite Dominates Most Streams
A few weeks ago you could probably make the joke that Twitch is almost nothing but Fortnite streams. This week, there's data to back it up. Dexerto ran a piece this week in which they examine all of the top streamers on the social streaming platform, along with the numbers when it comes to total streams playing games online, and the results show that Fortnite has basically dominated the platform.
Going by individual numbers, Ninja is, of course, sitting at the top with 3.8 million viewers on a weekly basis. That's double the two people behind him combined as Shroud and TSM Myth each have 1.7M respectively.
It shouldn't come as any shock that the game is basically running the show right now. It also doesn't hurt that these numbers were taken at the start of Season 5 and the kickoff of the Summer Skirmish event that's been taking place. But it does feel like the battle royale title is still on the right path to dominating the video game scene for the rest of 2018. Some of us are kind of wondering when the Fortnite bubble might pop, because the game can only stay popular for so long. We'll see how life pans out for Epic Games as we near the holidays.
