Nintendo Looking To Expand Nintendo Switch Online's Services
Those of us who are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online have been waiting for more additions to the service, and it sounds like they may be on the way. Video Games Chronicle has a new story this week that focuses on a recent general shareholders meeting in which a number of different topics were discussed. A little bit of a good news/bad news situation as those of us who were waiting for either an N64 or GameCube mini may not be seeing them made, but we may be seeing those games come to NSO. Here's a snippet from the article.
"At this place we cannot tell new information about future classic hardware among others, but we are thinking about providing an extension of the online service which is currently providing Famicom [NES] software, as well as other methods of providing them," he said (translated by Japanese Nintendo)
"We also recognise that there are opinions wanting to play past titles."
We've been waiting for months for Nintendo to announce the addition of Super Nintendo games to NSO, because dataminers already found the additional software showing they had been experimenting with adding them already. So why Nintendo has not yet announced anything or moved forward on at least the next retro console in the line is unknown to everyone at this point. But if they're talking about the N64 and the GameCube at this point, it seems like it's only a matter of time before it happens.
