Nintendo Switch Online Now Has 15 Million Subscribers
Some cool news for Nintendo this month as their subscriber base for Nintendo Switch Online has reached 15 million subscribers. Daniel Ahmad, a Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, tweeted out the finer details of the latest date from Nintendo's system. NSO currently has 15 million paid subscribers, which is up from 8 million users at this same time back in 2019. According to the math, it means about 29% of Nintendo Switch owners subscribe to NSO.
That's an impressive outing for the year after the service started out as basically just a way for people to play Switch games online. Fans weren't pleased with the change since they had been playing for free after the Switch came out, but the additions of the NES and SNES library made the $20 yearly subscription fee worth it. Nintendo has hinted that there are more services on the way but we haven't seen much come to fruition beyond the retro libraries. Speaking of which, we haven't seen an update to either of those since early December, which means we may be due for some new additions. What do you think of Nintendo Switch Online's subscription? Has it been worth the money or is it a service you feel you can skip?
