Pokémon GO Announce Plans For Pokémon Day 2019
Niantic revealed details of what Pokémon GO will be doing for Pokémon Day 2019, as the event comes up this week on February 27th. This year will be the 22nd anniversary of the event as they celebrate the release of the first Pokémon games on the Game Boy back in 1996, so every year the company does something new with whatever they currently have out from video games to the TCG to the TV shows to Pokémon GO. Below are all the additions that will happen during the event, which will kick off in the game starting on February 26th at 1pm PST and run until the same time on February 28th. Enjoy that 48 hours of celebration!
- Pokémon that Trainers encounter early on in their adventures through the Kanto region will appear more frequently in the wild!
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will be available to challenge in raids.
- Pikachu and Eevee wearing flower crowns will make a special appearance as Field Research encounters and in the wild.
- In celebration of Pokémon Day, you may even encounter Shiny Pidgey and Shiny Rattata!
