Shiny Palkia & Shiny Heracross Are Now Live In Pokémon GO

It has finally happened. Shiny Palkia has been released in Pokémon GO. Listen, we knew it was coming for a while from the blog, and yes, we saw it confirmed along with Dialga, but let's just take a moment here. Palkia and Dialga debuted in raids in early 2019 and, since then, they've been gone. They've been straight up Swayze. The only appearance we've gotten for either of these Legendaries was during one-day stints at GO Fest 2020 and GO Fest 2021. This meant, the Pokémon GO community had deduced, that their Shiny releases were being saved for something special. Well, here we are… something special indeed. Shiny Palkia is released today along with Shiny Heracross, a normally Regional Pokémon that will be available globally in Tier Three raids for the first time.

Shiny hunters and Dex completionists should note that Heracross has a slight gender difference. The Female Heracross will have a heart-shaped horn while the Male will have a two-pronged hitter.

While playing this event and battling in raids in an effort to catch these two pink Shinies, don't miss a new update that was quietly added to the Pokémon GO blog. Once the Ultra Unlock Part Three: Sword & Shield event, which will follow this current event, was announced, Niantic updated their August 2021 events announcement with a full list of the month's Spotlight Hours. These will include some Regional Pokémon as well, so keep an eye out!

Tuesday, August 3, 2021: Magnemite will be in the spotlight, and you'll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.

Tuesday, August 10, 2021: East Sea Shellos will be in the spotlight, and you'll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.

Tuesday, August 17, 2021: West Sea Shellos will be in the spotlight, and you'll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.

Tuesday, August 24, 2021: Skwovet will be in the spotlight, and you'll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.

Tuesday, August 31, 2021: Wooloo will be in the spotlight, and you'll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
