Ubisoft and Elijah Wood's Transference Releases Next Month

Transference has been shown at two E3s now and I don't quite know what to make of it. The VR-focused title is about a father who is trying to digitise his family and… well, it all goes a little wrong. It seems to employ FMV and regular 3D spaces, all in an effort to spook players. It looks neat, and I certainly have an eye on how it all comes together.

It turns out it isn't going to be too long until we can play it either. Ubisoft has announced that the game is coming out in less than a month, with the title set to hit on September 18th, 2018. It will launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, as well as on PSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift with VR support.

More than that, though, it's been revealed that Transference has gotten a demo, but not one with content from the game. Ubisoft has released something called Transference: The Walter Test Case Demo. It's a prequel story to the game that takes place 10 years before the events on the game, focusing on an experiment that leads to the one seen in the main game. Here is a trailer for the demo:

Again, I really am curious to see how this comes together. A big VR supported title should be very interesting indeed, and the game seems to be trying to tell a neat little story. Here's hoping it finds something interesting in its execution.
