Remedy Explain Why Quantum Break Is Taking A While
Quantum Break was first revealed at the Xbox One's own reveal event in early 2013. Since then, the game has made significant appearances here and there, yet it still isn't going to release this year.
This might have a few people worried for the game, as elongated development can sometimes spell trouble. Remedy Entertainment have taken to Edge Magazine (via GamesRadar+) to alleviate those fears though. The developer's Sam Lake addressed this directly, explaining the reason for the long development:
It's many things. Just thinking about Quantum Break, as an example, there's a lot of new technology, [Xbox One is] a new platform, it's a new universe, new story, there's new core gameplay. [That means] a lot of prototyping, and a lot of discovery. On the whole show side, there are a lot of challenges to figure out. It does end up taking time and, yes, we want to keep the quality high, so we don't want to make certain kinds of compromises, and are always making sure that this is iterated enough and polished enough and it's as good as it deserves to be.
I really do hope for the best for this game. It is looking good, and I'm excited to see what is to comes from it, even if I have been waiting to for a several years now.
