The SML Podcast – The Witness, Xbox One Backwards Compatibility, Recore And More

It's Monday night so it's time for The SML Podcast – Episode 214: Hack Hack Cough Spitooie here on Bleeding Cool!

The show kicks off with tons of news including Xbox One Backward Compatibility additions and the September Games With Gold lineup, The Witness coming to Xbox and the ReCore file size. Then we move to PlayStation with the PS Plus price increase, details on the PS4 slim, a PlayStation and Capcom themed Humble Bundle, and PS Now coming to the PC. Plus Overwatch and eSports chatter and our Featured Games!

Uneaten Lake covers the Space Dust Studios/Varkian Empire and Deck13 game Obliteracers which mixes the setting of Mario Kart with the party mayhem of Smash Brothers. CJ Greenwood reviews Meridian: Squad 22, a massive galactic RTS from Elder Games, Merge Games, and Headup Games. Worms WMD from Team17 is classic Worms gameplay with some added buildings, mechs, stationary guns, and more. Armikrog is a gorgeous point and click adventure game with a claymation visual style from Pencil Test Studios.

N++ from Metanet Software brings the incredible twitch platformer to Steam. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 from Raven Software and Activision brings the Superhero action RPG to current gen consoles. Rivals of Aether is an elemental themed 8bit Smash Bros. style game from Dan Fornace on Xbox Game Preview. Slime Rancher from Monomi Park is ranch building, slime breeding, and vacuuming fun on Xbox Game Preview. Finally, Solbrain: Knight of Darkness from Lightning Game Studio is an exploratory hack and slash mired in controversy.
