7 New HQ Stills From Netflix's 'Death Note' Adaptation
A new trailer for Netflix adaptation of Death Note dropped this past week, and we finally got a better look at Willem Dafoe's Ryuk. Reactions to the trailer and the adaptation have been mixed across the board, but it'll be something to watch next month regardless. Bloody Disgusting managed to get their hands on some high-quality images.
Unfortunately, none of them give us a closer look at Ryuk, but we do see him in shadow and the back of his head. We also get an image of Light (Nat Wolff) and L (Lakeith Stanfield) having some sort of confrontation, L addressing the public, and Margaret Qualley as Mia Sutton.
Summary: Light Turner, a bright student who stumbles across a mystical notebook that has the power to kill any person whose name he writes in it. Light decides to launch a secret crusade to rid the streets of criminals. Soon, the student-turned-vigilante finds himself pursued by a famous detective known only by the alias L.
Death Note, directed by Adam Wingard, stars Wolff, Stanfield, Dafoe, Qualley, and Shea Whigham. Catch it on Netflix starting August 25th.
