Ant-Man and the Wasp Star Michelle Pfeiffer Was "Pleasantly Surprised" by the First Movie

When Ant-Man was scheduled to come out after Avengers: Age of Ultron many fans were skeptical. It turns out we weren't the only ones. Michelle Pfeiffer now stars in Ant-Man and the Wasp but when she spoke to News18 she revealed that she was "pleasantly surprised" by the first movie.

"My first exposure to Marvel would have been Spider-Man and then Iron Man, both of which I really loved. I guess I discovered Marvel through my children," Pfeiffer said. "Then I saw Ant-Man, and I really loved it. At first I thought Ant-Man? I was not familiar with the superhero Ant-Man. By the sound of it I was a little skeptical, but I really was pleasantly surprised."

Pfeiffer went on to praise star Paul Rudd and how the movie had a different tone from other superhero movies.

"I've always been such a Paul Rudd fan, and the movie was really smart and really funny and also grounded in reality in way that it had this very unusual tone to it that I think set it apart from a lot of the other superhero movies that I had seen," she added.

When it comes to Ant-Man and the Wasp Pfeiffer said that she was most looking forward to working with the cast which has a lot of people she admires.

"All of these actors are actors that I've admired over the years and wanted to work with. So it's been exciting for me to work with people that I admire and respect."

We haven't seen Pfeiffer in action yet but they couldn't have grabbed a better person for the role of Janet Van Dyne than this legend.

Summary: As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

Ant-Man and the Wasp, directed by Peyton Reed, stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña. It will be released on July 6th.
