Empire Magazine's upcoming Alita: Battle Angel issue has more than just Robert Rodriguez's upcoming CGI fest, there just happens to be two new images from James Wan's Aquaman.

The two new photos feature Patrick Wilson as King Orm and Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry (aka Aquaman) in the midst of an aquatic armored-fight, complete with tridents and helmets reminiscent of Game of Thrones Kings Landing guards.

Empire even posted an excerpt from an interview with Wan which will be featured in the January 2019 issue of the magazine, in which the director (most known for his Conjuring series) pays homage to his favorite filmmakers:

"Obviously I loved the movies of George Lucas and Spielberg. This movie is my embrace of all the filmmakers I grew up loving; those sort of Spielberg-inspired wonderment movies from the '80s […] I finally get the chance to design some really fantastic worlds, the kind you're used to seeing in Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings."

Aquaman is set to hit theaters on December 12th in the UK, December 15th for Amazon Prime members, and December 21st for the USA.
