Avengers: Infinity War Won't Do the Same Thing as Previous Marvel Movies

There are a lot of reasons that blockbuster movies can very boring but one of the reasons is because they tend to repeat themselves. It's not something the Marvel Cinematic Universe wants to do though or at least according to one of its biggest stars. Robert Downey Jr. spoke to the Straits Times and said that, despite the temptation, Infinity War is not keen to repeat the success of previous movies.

"I read in some magazine that the No. 1 fan-voted moment was the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War (2016), because there are so many superheroes at once. But people don't want a repeat of what's worked well. The challenge this time was how do we expand something without repeating something that has been executed well before. It's the anti-process, if you will. Because usually, if something works, you just keep doing that."

The idea of putting together a movie like this is big enough without repeating yourself and Benedict Cumberbatch gave a lot of credit to the people behind the scenes for getting everything together.

"The director and the producers are the ones with super powers. The line producers who worked out all of our schedules to do the film – it's all a small miracle."

Director Joe Russo was surprised that they didn't shut down all of Hollywood for a year considering most of the big stars were working on Infinity War and Avengers 4.

"Logistically, this was the most complicated movie to put together in history. We shut down Hollywood for a year, because we had every actor working in the business scheduled somewhere in the movie."

No one has seen Infinity Wars to the end yet so we'll have to see if the logical nightmare was worth it and if they managed not to repeat themselves.

Summary: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
