The BBC has released a trailer for the 2016 Doctor Who Christmas Special, "The Return of Doctor Mysterio." The episode will feature Doctor Who's take on New York City superheroes, in what is probably a clear retaliation for Dan Slott's Silver Surfer being Marvel's take on Doctor Who.

The special will premiere on December 25.

The Doctor joins forces with a masked superhero for an epic New York adventure. With brain-swapping aliens poised to attack, the Doctor and Nardole link up with an investigative reporter and a mysterious figure known only as the Ghost. Can the Doctor save Manhattan?
