Captain Marvel: DeWanda Wise Cast in an Unknown Role

We're mere months away from Captain Marvel kicking off production and that means it's time for some more casting. Deadline has announced that DeWanda Wise of She's Gotta Have It fame has been cast in an unknown role in the superhero movie.

She's Gotta Have It was recently renewed for a second season and Wise has starred in Underground and Shots Fired. As for who she could be playing, there is someone connected to the Captain Marvel that Wise looks like she could play perfectly: Monica Rambeau.

Rambeau has already held the title of Captain Marvel in the past, though these days she's known as Spectrum. Could we be seeing team-up of the two ladies who have held the title of Captain Marvel? We can only hope.

Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
