Charles Dance Is In The Witcher 3 And He Seems To Be Quite Excited About It
I once sat two feet away from Charles Dance's face while he answered my questions. While the man has a warmth about him, it's hard to deny his intensity. He is a wonderful actor and it is great to see he has had a bit of a resurgence after his turn as Game of Thrones' Tywin Lannister.
He's stepping into a new medium though, taking on his first video game role in The Witcher 3. He'll be playing the role of Emhyr var Emreis, ruthless Emperor of Nilfgaard. I suppose it's not too bad being typecast.
Here is a video of him doing the voice work and one of the really encouraging things about it is that he seems genuinely enthused about having a role in a video game.
What with Kevin Spacey blowing the space wide open in Advanced Warfare and Peter Dinklage…appearing in Destiny, these kinds of stunt casts are no doubt about to become more plentiful. The least you can hope for is that the actors turn up and give it a fair shake. It seems Dance has done that.
