[SPOILER] Confirms She Isn't Returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix

We're just under nine months away from the release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but we are starting to learn some new information about the movie. We know quite of few of the returning cast members and some details about who new characters are playing. There are some people whose fates we don't know, and now one of them has confirmed that she isn't returning to this next installment. However, to get into who confirmed that they aren't coming back would be a bit of a spoiler, so we're throwing up the spoiler warning. This is a fairly minor character, but better safe than sorry when it comes to spoilers.

While on the junket for the upcoming film Peter Rabbit, Rose Byrne confirmed to Cinema Blend that her character of Moria MacTaggert is not returning for this installment.

[SPOILER] Confirms She Isn't Returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Unfortunately, Moira is not showing up. I wish she was. I had such fun on X-Men: Apocalypse. I love that cast. It is a really fun, what do you call it? Superhero film… ensemble exactly. I can't wait to see what [Jessica Chastain] does, cause I'm such a fan.

We still don't know that much about X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but it is a shame to see a female character get the ax. Granted, the movies didn't really do anything that interesting with Moira, unfortunately — but maybe this could have been a chance for her character to shine. Maybe next time.

Summary: Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn it into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix, directed by Simon Kinberg, stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. It will be released on November 2nd.
