Daredevil Season 3: Vincent D'Onofrio Returns With Erik Oleson As Showrunner

It looks like things are finally moving ahead with the third season of Daredevil. We've known there is going to be a third season for a long time, but this is the first movement we've had since that teaser aired at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. According to Deadline, we have two major pieces of information: we have a showrunne,  and the Kingpin, AKA Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), is returning.

D'Onofrio was the main villain for Charlie Cox's Daredevil in the first season and certainly made an impression during season two when he showed up for as brief three-episode run. We don't know for sure what arc this new season is following, but with everyone thinking that Matt is dead, everyone is assuming we're getting the Born Again arc — in which Fisk does play a large part.

We also have a new showrunner in Erik Oleson. Marco Ramirez was the previous showrunner, along with Douglas Petrie, and Ramirez went on to be the showrunner for The Defenders. Deadline continues:

"Oleson, most recently an executive producer and writer on Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, more than made his superhero bones from spending a season and more as a co-EP on the CW's Arrow."

The rumor mill suggests that Daredevil is set to start filming sometimes before the end of the year or early next year, with a release date of late 2018. No one is really sure yet, but stay tuned!
