Empire Gives Us A New Image From 'Marvel's Inhumans'
The trailer for the ABC television adaptation of Marvel's Inhumans has drawn some criticism. However, now that the trailer is out and their big panel at Comic-Con International is right around the corner we can expect to learn a lot more about the upcoming series. For now Empire has a new image and a short interview with showrunner Scott Buck about the series.
Buck talked about how they are premiering the first two episodes of the show IMAX theaters and how that is helping them do bigger and better things with the series.
"It gives us a massive, dramatic opening," showrunner Scott Buck explains in the new issue of Empire. "It allows us to think bigger; to use visuals you don't normally get on your television screen. We wanted [it to be] strikingly beautiful and unusual."
Buck went on to talk about how despite the fact that we're dealing with insane things like a man who can't talk because his voice is destructive and a woman who can kill people with her hair the core of the series will be relatable.
"There will be plenty of humour and fantastic elements," he tells Empire, "but we're dealing with relatable people in a moment of great crisis: a royal family forced into the position of refugees. They just happen to have superpowers."
We only have the one trailer and some set photos to go off of but we can expect to learn a lot more about this series in the coming months. Empire has provided us with a new image of brothers Black Bolt (Anson Mount) and Maximus (Iwan Rheon) having a tense standoff.
Summary: An isolated community of superhumans fight to protect themselves.
Inhumans, created by Scott Buck, stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon, Mike Moh, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, and Kevin Leung. The first two episodes will premiere in IMAX on September 1st.
