This week, I Wonder Pictures and Unipol Biograpfilm Collection debuted their latest documentary, I Love Lucca Comics & Games, in Rome, Italy. The premiere came just a few days ahead of the annual convention, which takes place from October 29 to November 2 in Lucca, Italy. The doc puts a major lens on the convention, showcasing its popularity and discussing how it has built itself up to become the second biggest convention in Europe (right behind Gamescom in Germany). With more than 300,000 visitors each year, 900+ guests, and 600 exhibitors, Lucca Comics & Games is one of the world's largest pop-culture events. But it's also something more: a transformative experience and a meeting point that brings thousands together to share an explosion of joy and creativity—a place that generates happiness.   Through the voices of authors, publishers, and special guests including film director Gabriele Mainetti; best-selling writers R. L. Stine and Licia Troisi; rapper Frankie hi-nrg mc; comic artists Pera Toons, Sio, Fumettibrutti, Yoshitaka Amano, Roberto Recchioni, and many others. By meeting some of the visitors who consider Lucca their second home, writer-director Manlio Castagna portrays the community, values and lived experience of this unique event.
