John Boyega Learned the Title for Episode IX 24 Hours Before We Did
We think it's probably time to stop asking Star Wars actors about what is happening in the movies because it really seems like they have no idea what is going on. The scary NDA's that the Marvel actors signed are just as strong as the NDA's that the Star Wars actors sign. Fandango got the chance to speak to John Boyega after the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker panel and said he was shocked by the title.
"I was shocked by a few things, specifically that title. "Rise of Skywalker." What does that mean?"
When he asked to elaborate on the title and what it means Boyega revealed that he found out what the title is 24 hours before the rest of us did.
"I don't know. Like listen, you need to understand I only found out about that title yesterday night. And I always have all the questions. As a Star Wars fan I have to have all of the questions but the script changes through the process, we don't always know exactly what the narrative is. Especially with Rey and scenes we're not in. So I was curious, I'm excited though. It looks good."
So if any is looking to ask Boyega and likely other cast members what they think the title means you're probably not going to get a good answer. It sounds like this is like the Avengers movies in that everyone is about as in the dark as the rest of us are.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, directed by J.J. Abrams, stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams.
It will be flying into theaters on December 20th, 2019.
