Kate Winslet Joins The 'Avatar' Universe

In news that is extremely conflicting the extremely talented Kate Winslet is apparently joining the universe of Avatar according to Deadline. Winslet, who is hailed as one of the best actresses in her generation, first worked with director James Cameron on Titanic.

"Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career," Cameron said. "I can't wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life."

It sounds like Winslet is going to be playing a new character and we don't know for how many movies she's contracted to do. She's a busy actress though and one that is doing extremely well so it would be surprising if she decided to sign on for all 3000 4 movies. That is a lot of time to dedicate since they are filming all four back to back. It wouldn't be that surprising if she ended up being in Avatar 2 and then maybe had small cameo roles in the rest of the movies. Either way Winslet is a great talent who could probably be going after another Oscar instead of doing this.

Avatar 2 will be released on December 18th, 2020. Avatar 3 will open December 17th, 2021, Avatar 4 is set of December 20th, 2024, and Avatar 5 will open December 19th, 2025.
