Kevin Conroy And The Trump Supporter…
There has been massive fallout from Donald Trump's decision to have the United States exit the Paris Climate Accords. There has been a mass outcry against the decision from heads of state, heads of corporations and now the guy for years who fought against the Demon's Head. Batman the Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy took to twitter to share his opinion of the decision.
The following response came from another twitter user named Gino Felino who uses a photo of Steven Segal as his profile image and his head image reads: "an·ti-Sem·ite [an-tee-sem-ahyt]: a non-jew who notices (((coincides))) he shouldn't be noticing." (Not the dictionary definition of Anti Semite.)
Conroy replied to the tweet with the following. He references some new solar panels he just had installed on his roof.
We live in a country that values free speech, but we seem to have lost the expectation of civil discourse and productive debate. In a polarized society, there is nothing wrong with responding to another person's opinion with a differing opinion. The fact that China is not expected to make any changes until 2030 is a strong argument against the accords. But the argument loses a bit of its credibility when it's coupled with name calling. And really, Bat-Dick? Not really the mic-drop comment I think he was going for.
Oh wait… he replied again:
One of the biggest reasons the country is split comes from people no longer talking to each other but rather talking at each other. Leave it to Kevin to wrap it up… so to speak.
