Mondo releases new vinyl special editions every single Wednesday. They are they ultimate edition of whatever they put out, featuring extensive liner notes, brand-new commissioned artwork, and always have a limited-edition size. The vinyl itself is usually colored or a photo disc, as well. Basically, it's like the Criterion Collection of movie and gaming soundtracks. This week sees the release of the soundtrack to the new Blumhouse hit The Invisible Man!
What you can't see can hurt you…..
We are thrilled to be bringing you two absolutely killer releases this week! First up we have Benjamin Wallfisch's score to Leigh Whannell's THE INVISIBLE MAN this week in partnership with our friends at Backlot Music. The film smashed the box office this past weekend and is one of the finest horror movies in a long time. The score by Ben Wallfisch is an absolute tour de force and highly recommended. We are super stoked to be working with both of these guys again.
Ben Wallfisch has delivered an incredible muscular score for The Invisible Man, Mixing classical strings, synths & Industrial noise it is both organic and synthetic, pummelling you one minute and barley there the next. Honestly, this hasn't left my headphones since we were sent it. Wallfisch expands on the sonics of his IT scores and while there are inspiration and nods to Bernard Herrman in the urgency of the string section it feels contemporary and timeless. An astounding achievement.
