Morbius has debuted its first trailer, and fans of the current Sony Spider-Man Universe should be excited. Starring Jared Leto, the film will trace the origin of Marvel Comics resident good guy vampire Michael Morbius, who while searching for a cure to a rare blood disease instead turns himself into a monster. This one was really sneaking under the radar for this year, but no longer.
Check out the Morbius trailer below.
One of Marvel's most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
I gotta say, they may have nailed this one. Leto looks almost too perfect as Michael, and the dark, moody tones used in the trailer seem spot on for the story. And how about that Vulture cameo? While not set directly in the MCU, I guess they are plot sharing and can reference the events? It is all so confusing.
Morbius, starring Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and with Tyrese Gibson opens this summer.
