Paula Patton On The Daunting Physical Training To Play Garona In Warcraft
The latest Warcraft featurette focuses on Garona Halforcen played by Paula Patton. The character is interesting. She believed she was half-Orc and half-Human but later discovered she was a forced breeding between an Orc and a Draeni by Gul'dan who also magically aged and tortured her. She is a trained assassin and spy. Her history in the movie may change or parts may not be revealed, but she plays a big part in the story of the Last Guardian, one of the stories used as a premise for the film.
The actress, Patton, had extensive training to prepare for the role and took on a lot of the stunts herself as you can see in the below video. Because of the characters split heritage, she is the build of a large human woman, allow Patton to play the role in costume rather than in gray pajamas doing motion capture. They do seem to do the skin color change in post if this video is an indication of that.
Warcraft opens June 10th.
