Resident Evil Remaster Footage Shows Iconic Scene And Will Release In January

By Patrick Dane

Look, the Resident Evil franchise is in a precarious position at the moment. At least that's the case for the most recent 'numbered' entries. Five was a decent action game, but unrecognisable as a Resident Evil entry. Six was, simply put, a mess. For some, it might be hard to remember why they loved this series in the first place.

If you are beginning to feel that way, Capcom are going to try and win you over by taking you back to the very roots of the franchise. The original Resident Evil is getting a re-do and will be available on 20 January, 2015 for the reduced price of $19.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Interestingly, this is a 'remaster' of the 2002 GameCube remake. So really, an apt name would be Resident Evil: The Remake: The Remaster. Sadly, they've stuck with simply Resident Evil.

You can check out the footage below showcasing possibly the most iconic moment in all of horror gaming. I have to say, this looks like a neat little package.
