[RUMOR] Production On Venom Has Been Delayed
Sony's Venom might be off to a rough start if a new rumor coming out of Omega Underground is to be believed. The Spider-Man spin-off movie has a star in Tom Hardy and a director in Ruben Fleischer along with Spider-Man: Homecoming's production designer Oliver Scholl but no other official casting announcements have been made. When the movie was announced it came the rumored start date of September 1st but it appears the pack nature of the business has forced them to set the production back about six weeks to October 23rd..
The source cites the fact that places like Atlanta are very busy right now with multiple huge projects all shooting at once. It's getting to the point that some movies are having a hard time finding the crews they need to get production off of the ground because there just aren't enough people out there. This, and the fact that there are plenty of major roles that need to get cast before anything should happen.
Venom has a release date of October 5, 2018 so a delay like this isn't a huge deal but it does speak of a wider problem plaguing the industry as much as it is plaguing audiences; there are too many movies. There are so many big movies with huge production budgets that audiences don't have time to go see them all and now Hollywood itself can't even find the manpower to make them all.
